Family History

The West Point Motel has a rich history dating back to 1923 when it first opened its doors as the West Point Cabins. Over the years, it evolved into the West Point Motel, adapting to the changing landscape brought about by the interstate highway system. Part of the motel was built in 1983, with an additional building added in 1987 and the final building completed in 1990.

For nearly a century, spanning four generations of hoteliers, we have been proud to offer some of the best accommodations north of New York City. From 1963 to 1983, Christy led the business with dedication and passion. Following his passing in 1983, his son, Gus, and his wife, Vicky, took over the reins, ensuring the motel continued to thrive. Since 2024, Gus and Vicky’s son, Christy, has been at the helm, carrying on the family legacy with pride and commitment.
